Box Theater,
beginning april 2
When describing the storyline of the upcoming John Cooper Upper School drama
production of
12 Angry Jurors, director Joseph DeMonico says, “It’s not so much about guilt or innocence, it’s more about whether or not you care.” The Cooper production is set in a modern day jury room where jurors are sent to
deliberate the fate of a man charged with capital murder.
“What initially seems to be a very cut-and-dried case, turns out not to be,” DeMonico said.
The Cooper production opens on April 2 at 7 p.m. with evening performances
continuing on April 3 and April 4 and a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on April
5. The production will be held in the Black Box Theater of Cooper
’s new Performing Arts Center and all seats are $10.
The original play, 12 Angry Men, was set in the year it was written, 1954, when women were not allowed to serve
on juries. The Cooper production, set in modern day times, has been upgraded to
include women jurors.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.johncooper.org and also at the door. There is limited seating for each production.
