Summer in The Woodlands, Texas. The parades, music at the Pavilion, kid festivals at Market Street and so much more make you realize how blessed we are to live in an area so rich in beauty, neighbors and inspiration. What could make you smile more on a sunny day  than the sound of children’s laughter at the fountains in Market Street? The packed patio at your favorite restaurant? How about just hanging out with friends next to the area pool? Recent events in my life made me recognize the need to stop and smell the roses a little more often, and let my sons skip a few curbs, despite the fact, we are already running late.
On a social note, I find myself focusing more on the extraordinary cause behind each event I cover. Moving into fundraising season, I encourage you to check out our Happening ’s calendar and make plans to attend a gala, party or fun run. Whether you are attending strictly to give or just to be social, you truly make a difference in someone ’s life by supporting their cause. And, while you are out and about, look for me so you too can be “Scene in The Woodlands!” Making plans for an upcoming gala, fundraiser, party or event? Drop me a line with the details or photos of a past event at missyherndon@yahoo.com.
Pavilion 20th Season Celebration
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion recently began its 20th performing arts season with a celebration for music lovers of all ages. Culture, patriotism, dance and classical music were just a few of the many events lined up to give local folks a taste of what this great venue has offered for more than two decades. During the recent 20th Anniversary party,
families made their way through the many booths set up by the opening gates and then quickly moved to the lawn and the expanded, newly covered reserved seat sections where they enjoyed more than $9.5 million in
renovations.
