Montgomery County’s new Woodforest development has begun lot sales in Phase 1, which encompasses 240 homesites
split among two custom and two production home neighborhoods. Custom builders
starting work on both private and showcase homes include Jeff Paul Custom Homes, George Weaver Inc., Meadowlark Custom Homes and J.M. Wendell Inc. Custom homes will be priced from the $750,000s to more than $1 million.
Production builders include Southern Mark Homes, Plantation Homes, Pulte Homes and Newmark Homes. They will offer designs from the $210,000s on 55- and 65-foot homesites in the
Overland Trace neighborhood and from the $450,000s on 70- and 80-foot homesites
in Monarch Park. Work also is under way on two lake parks and a neighborhood
park scheduled to open this spring.
Also visible is the progress on Lake Creek Bridge and Fish Creek Thoroughfare,
the major roadway leading into Woodforest. The thoroughfare, which will extend
to FM 2854 and eventually to State Highway 105, provides a north-south
alternative to Interstate 45, significantly increasing accessibility within the
county. The thoroughfare and bridge are on track to open in early 2009,
coinciding with the opening of the model homes.
