Cover Feature
“It’s for any women who has moved to The Woodlands. It’s like a support group to help them get acquainted with the area. After you’ve unpacked the boxes and your husband is all set in his new job, what do you do? In many cases, you don’t know anybody. I went to that group when I got moved in and it was such a great program. I’m privileged to be on its leadership team now. It is so rewarding to see women make all these friendships.
“I just think we found the perfect house and place for us,” Rita says. “You couldn’t ask for a more peaceful setting.”

Golf is very much the theme in this second guestroom. “This is our guy
guestroom,” says Rita. Golf-related Saturday Evening Post covers are
framed above the bed, just some of the many golf mementoes here.
Rita’s inspiration for this “girly” guestroom was this painting that her
daughter gave her as a gift. “I love it so much I had to plan this room
around it,” says Rita.
A weathered maple sage
colored island topped with granite is functional and
beautiful in this kitchen,
providing contrast to the lighter cabinets. Thermador appliances are throughout.
