The Woodlands Lifestyles & Homes February 2009
The Woodlands Lifestyles and Homes Magazine
Dozens of caring guests helped raise more than $225,000 for the Montgomery County Women’s Center and the Community Clinic during a  fundraising gala held at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in The Woodlands.
Proceeds raised during the event benefited the newly-created Community Outreach Fund for both nonprofits, whose services often go hand-in-hand.
“The Fleming’s event was truly amazing,” said Rebecca C. Jones, executive director of the Community Clinic. “We plan to use the funds to continue to help grow all of our programs at the Community Clinic, and we have recently started a clinic day with Montgomery County Women’s Center to help address the medical concerns of their clients.”
She added, “With the recent expansion in our medical program and addition of Dr. Roberts, we have experienced an increase in our supply costs and services costs. Given the financial instability of our country, we are grateful for the funds raised, which will enable us to continue all of our services.”
Sarah Raleigh, executive director for the Montgomery County Women’s Center, added, “We want to profusely thank the people involved in making this happen, especially Shelli Moran of Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar who underwrote the gala, as well as those who attended and helped us reach our goal of being able to provide important services to those in need within our community.”
The Montgomery County Women’s Center is a nonprofit organization serving victims of family violence and/or sexual assault or abuse with several locations in Montgomery and surrounding counties, including The Woodlands. For more information, visit www.mcwcthewoodlands.org.
