The home is a perfect reflection of the couple’s design
sensibility with clean lines, high ceilings, open spaces and a
neutral backdrop that doesn’t jolt the eye.
perfect private arrangement for visitors. Birgitte’s office is also down this hall. On the opposite side of the house, a secluded
hallway leads to the master bedroom and bathroom. The view of the back yard and
beyond is equally fetching from the master bedroom, eloquently outfitted in a
mixture of streamlined furnishings and accessories that provide subtle contrast
to an upgraded wool carpet and soft shaded walls.
The house provides for every conceivable need with three bedrooms upstairs—two of them for their sons—the other used as an exercise room. A game room replete with pool table and a
gaming station receives lots of use, as does a media room for movie viewing. A
workspace that Birgitte uses for craft projects is on this level, too.
“Really, this house has everything we need for our family,” Birgitte says. “The really wonderful bonus is this great view. I mean, if we’re going to have this kind of back yard with the golf course, the deer, the
pool, we want to see it as much as possible. It
’s a great thing to have this view. Believe me, I’m looking out there every day.”
The couple opted for a natural looking pool, one without a formal edge. “I really didn’t want anything the least bit formal. It wouldn’t have looked right with the house or fit in to our tastes,” explains Birgitte who hired Texas Pools to do the job.
“We wanted an indoor-outdoor flow to this house and I think we got that,” she continues. “We’re out there just about every weekend, weather permitting. The natural feel of
this place, the way it opens up to the back side, it is exactly what we wanted.
We
’re so glad we found it at the stage of construction that it was. We got to put
our stamp on the place immediately. It felt like home, right from the start.
