Shoecolate event benefits Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Shoecolate hosted a shopping event which raised $570 to benefit the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation. Customers and special guests enjoyed purchasing
shoes for a good cause while enjoying the store
’s chocolate and coffee bar.
“We were very pleased to host this event to raise funds for such an important
cause,
” said Celeste Novak, owner of Shoecolate.

iaap donates gifts to interfaith for seniors during holidays. The International Association of Administrative Professionals, a group of 80
members, collected and donated new blankets, socks and slippers to Interfaith
of The Woodlands
’ “Gifts for Seniors” program.
“Volunteering has always been a passion of mine,” said Christina Crawford, representative of IAAP. “When I heard about the holiday program for seniors, I immediately thought about
how sometimes they are forgotten, and this would a great opportunity to give to
seniors.
”

Interfaith Client Waiting Room Makeover by Junior League a Success. Representatives from The Junior League of North Harris and South Montgomery
Counties Inc. and Interfaith of The Woodlands gathered to mark the official
opening of Interfaith
’s new client waiting room.
“The Junior League of North Harris and South Montgomery Counties Inc. is thrilled
that our
‘Here to Help’ program was able to provide a new Programs and Services Waiting Area for the
families and individuals,
” said Shannon Mills, president of the JLNHSMC.
In addition to new paint, comfortable seating, decorative pieces and an
organized rack distributing important information to clients, the new waiting
room also features books for children to take home at no cost.

MCUW Participates in Bare Your Soles. Montgomery County Youth Services invited nonprofit organizations that serve Montgomery County’s homeless population to participate in the Bare Your Soles event to provide
help for the homeless.
Approximately 300 people participated in the event and 50 people walked in the “Bare Your Soles” 1-mile walk surrounding Lewis Park in Conroe.

The woodlands dog park club holds food drive for four-legged friends. Members of The Woodlands Dog Park Club held a food drive for pets served by the
Meals On Wheels program operated by The Friendship Center of Montgomery County.
The food collected was provided to homebound senior adults who needed
assistance feeding their four-legged friends.

Dimlich, TFC pet food project chair; and Peter Felix, Dog Park Club volunteer;
with items collected during the food drive for pets.
Two Men And A Truck gets moving for New Danville’s Jazzy Junque sale. Two Men and a Truck will donate its services to New Danville’s 2nd annual Jazzy Junque & Other Great Stuff fundraising sale set for March 26-28 at Outlets at Conroe.
Donations of unwanted items are currently being sought and collected for the
sale, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting New Danville, the
master-planned community for adults with mild intellectual and/or developmental
disabilities.
Two Men and a Truck will help pick up donated items. Donations of items in good
working condition including: furniture, home accessories, electronics, sporting
goods, house wares, infant/children
’s items, art, garden/patio, jewelry, seasonal decorations, collectibles and
tools are requested by March 1.
The Outlets at Conroe shopping center located off I-45 at League Line Road (exit
91) is donating 8,000 square feet of retail space for the sale event.

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Donates To Interfaith. Employees of Memorial Hermann Hospital - The Woodlands donate to Interfaith of
The Woodlands each year, and this year they set a new record.
With a competition between departments to collect the most nonperishable canned
goods, the hospital staff donated a combined total of more than 2,300 pounds of
food and $1,725.
