program, through Aug. 5
Montgomery County Youth Services is hosting its 2nd annual Summer Program
through Aug. 5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Tullis Library in New Caney.
Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to explore different cultures through
food, dance, music, visual aids, crafts and activities. Each week
’s selected culture will feature a guest speaker who will discuss the various
aspects of that culture and allow kids to partake in hands-on cultural
activities.
The Woodlands Christian
academy accepting applications
Applications for The Woodlands Christian Academy are now being accepted for the
2009-10 school year. The Woodlands Christian Academy is an independent,
Christ-centered college prepatory school offering learning for students
Pre-kindergarten-12th grade.

The Woodlands Rotary Club Hosts FIRST
ANNUAL OKTOBERFEST, sept. 26-27
The Woodlands Rotary Club will host its 1st annual Oktoberfest on Sept. 26-27 in
Town Green Park along The Woodlands Waterway.
The two-day event will feature music from several German bands as well as
authentic German food. Oktoberfest Bavarian souvenirs will also be for sale in
the festival
’s craft vendor fair.
Ticket prices are $10 per person; $5 for children 2-10; and children under 2 are
free.
lpga tour championship,
nov. 17-22
The 2009 LPGA Tour Championship will be held Nov. 17-22 at The Houstonian Golf & Country Club. The event will feature a field of 120 of the top LPGA
professionals in the world, a $1.5 million purse and a unique format that will
see a cut after 36 holes to the low 70 professionals and an additional cut
after 54 holes to the low 30 pros.
Tickets for the 2009 LPGA Tour Championship can be purchased online at www.lpgatourchampionship.org or by phone at 877-LPGA-TIX. The cost for daily tickets, which allow grounds
access for any one day of tournament week (Wednesday-Sunday) is $20. Daily
parking passes are also available for $5 each. Weekly grounds passes are $60
and allow access to the tournament grounds for the entire week. All weekly
ticket purchases also include one complimentary weekly parking pass.
The LPGA Tour Championship will be broadcast on the Golf Channel from Nov.19-22.
The united states army field band
and soldiers’ chorus, july 28
The United Sates Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus will perform a free public concert on July 28 at 7:30 p.m. at The
Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
The Concert Band and Soldiers Chorus make up the largest performing component of
the U.S. Army Field Band, consisting of a 65-piece symphonic band and a
29-voice mixed chorus. The groups have toured for more than 50 years and
offered a varied repertoire of original and standard concert music, pop,
patriotic and show tunes in a program that appeals to all ages.
Cheaper by the dozen, beginning july 31
Stage Right will present the family classic comedy, Cheaper By the Dozen at the Crighton Theatre in downtown Conroe from July 31-Aug. 16. Performances
will be held at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays with Sunday matinees on Aug. 9
and 16 at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices are $17 for adults and $12 for youth and students.

hot & blue festival
The 12th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival will be held on July 4 from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. at Town Green Park,
located along the banks of The Woodlands Waterway.
Entertainment at this year’s festival will feature a Latin variety of live music from Yelba and Max Cat,
plus the H-E-B Hot Dog and Watermelon Eating Contest, face painting,
caricatures, inflatables, strolling entertainers,golf range, food and beverage
concessions and much more for the entire family.
Walk over to Waterway Square and enjoy a variety of bands from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
from musical sensations like Ramon and The Josh Ward Band. Kids will enjoy face
painting, balloon artists, caricatures and an interactive children
