Goodbye winter and hello spring, well, at least in theory. As we leave February
and some of the coldest temperatures we have seen in years, look to the warm
sun, greener grass, and the freshness of all that spring will soon offer. Pack
up your coats and prepare for the beautiful days ahead. As spring fundraising
season gains momentum, enjoy a luncheon, early Saturday morning run or a glass
of wine for a great cause. And while your
out, look for me, so you too can be “Scene in The Woodlands!”

Taste of The Town
Limitless samples of the best food and drinks the area has to offer sounds like
a dream come true to those of us who love to eat
… and this year’s Taste of the Town did not disappoint. The South Montgomery County Woodlands
Chamber of Commerce
’s annual event was held at the Woodlands Marriott and Convention Center. For one
night, an estimated 5,000 locals packed the place to sample everything from
filets to ice cream from the 70 best local eateries. From Black Iguana
Margaritas to chocolate dipped strawberries from Hubbell and Hudson, tongues
wagged at every booth from guests seeking each restaurants
’ “known for” food. Big eaters and bidders hit the fabulous silent auction and raffle, all
benefiting the Chamber. Bring on Taste 2011!

The Woodlands Idol
After several rounds of preliminary and semifinal competition, the best voices
in the county took to the stage in hopes of winning the third annual Woodlands
Idol Finals competition. It was Robert Bell
’s rendition of Prince’s Purple Rain that rocked the stage and won him the crown of The Woodlands Idol for 2010. In
addition to holding the title and bragging rights, Bell also won $1,000 and a
pair of boots from Outback Western Wear. Congratulations to all the finalists!
