the major roadway leading into Woodforest. The thoroughfare, which will extend
to FM 2854 and eventually to State Highway 105, provides a north-south

within the county. The thoroughfare and bridge are on track to open in early
2009, coinciding with the opening of the model homes.
Also slated to open fully by spring 2009 is The Welcome Lodge, the community’s Information and Homefinder Center. Designed as a 6,200-square-foot custom home
overlooking Woodforest Golf Club, the facility offers complete information on
homebuilder's, planned amenities, the overall development plan and much more.
In addition to Woodforest Golf Club, a 27-hole championship course that has won
much acclaim from the local and statewide golfing industry, the 3,000-acre
Woodforest community will offer abundant amenities: a resort-style recreation
center/swimming complex, with multiple pools, water slides, spraygrounds and
more. Lighted tennis courts are planned, as are playgrounds, an outdoor event
lawn and sports fields. In all, residents will enjoy more than 29 acres of
lakes, 25 miles of hike-and-bike trails and more than 700 acres dedicated to
parks, green space and sports fields.
Conroe ISD has purchased a 16.16-acre site in Woodforest, slated to become the
