Eve Allen will assume the role of Lower School Principal beginning June 1, 2009, at The Woodlands Christian Academy.
Allen teaches fifth- and sixth-grade language arts at The Woodlands Christian
Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from
Stephen F. Austin State University, a Masters of Education in Language Arts and
Administration from the University of St. Thomas, and has completed all but her
dissertation towards a doctorate in Education from Capella University.
She began her career almost 11 years ago as a fourth-grade gifted and talented
teacher in Tomball ISD. Allen directed the gifted and talented program at
Northpointe Intermediate School in Tomball before becoming a district level
curriculum specialist in the Tomball ISD. In both these positions she was
responsible for curriculum development and implementation, effective classroom
instruction, and staff development. In addition to these accomplishments, she
also holds the Texas State Board of Education certification for Principal
(PK-12)

Company, along with Debra Staley, director of public affairs for TWDC, presented a $20,000 corporate contribution to the Montgomery County United Way. Accepting the donation on behalf of the United Way was Julie Martineau, president of the nonprofit organization.
TWDC was chosen as a Pacesetter Company for the 2009 United Way campaign, which
is defined by United Way as a leading employer that sets a positive and
successful example for other businesses in Montgomery County to follow with
their respective campaigns.
Employees from The Woodlands Development Company and The Club at Carlton Woods pledged an additional $36,540 to the Montgomery
County United Way. Along with financial donations, TWDC staff members volunteer
numerous hours with United Way agencies including the Meals on Wheels program
from The Friendship Center. .

Center’s Woman of Distinction.
Claire Ramsey was selected
as the Montgomery County Women’s Center’s “Woman of Distinction.”
Claire has lived in Texas since 1972 and has lived in The Woodlands since 1996.
She began volunteering for the agency in 2002 and has been an integral part of
the agency
’s day-to-day operations.
Cardiologist George Nasser, M.D., has been named Physician of the Year by St. Luke’s. Dr. Robert Cook, general surgeon, and Dr. Ikedinobi Eni, who specializes in general medicine, were also nominated.
St. Luke’s management team and staff collected ballots, which nominated physicians for
the award based upon their commitment to quality and excellence in health care,
demonstrated level of patient-focused care, and leadership among their

physician peers and patient care staff.
During a celebration of Doctor’s Day at the hospital, Dr. Nasser was presented with a special plaque by CEO Debra F. Sukin in recognition of his dedication to quality health care.
During the celebration, Sukin said, “It is an honor to recognize our physicians on Doctor’s Day. Our physicians devote tireless hours to their patients and we are honored
to have the accumulation of their expertise here at St. Luke
’s to present the best medical staff in north Houston area.”

Representatives from the business and professional communities across Montgomery
County traveled to Austin on April 7 for
Montgomery County Day at the Texas Capitol to meet with the elected representatives during the Texas State Legislature’s sessions.
Included in the day’s activities were an overview on state issues, luncheon with state legislators
on the Capitol grounds, visits with members of the Texas House of
Representatives and Texas Senate, as well as time for observing House and
Senate committee hearings and floor debates, meetings with representatives of
key state agencies, and touring the majestic State Capitol and Bob Bullock
Museum.
