author Raymond Benson visits library, May 21
Join former official James Bond continuation novel author, Raymond Benson, for an enlightening side show presentation all about the history of 007. Benson will cover the life of Ian Fleming and his creation of the character, James Bond, the rise of 007 in popularity through novels and films, and finally Benson ’s own involvement in the franchise. A question and answer session will follow.

Woodlands Arthritis Walk, May 30
The South Texas-Arthritis Foundation will hold its 1st Annual Woodlands Arthritis Walk on May 30 from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. at 2099 Lake Robbins Drive,Town Green Park.
There will be a 3-mile walk or a 1-mile dog walk with a Dog Zone, Kid Zone, VIP tent with Chick-fil-A breakfast and chair massages.  
Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m.

Summer Shakespeare Workshop for Youth, june 8-26
Bravo Company will offer a Shakespeare Workshop for youth this summer. Students will have the opportunity to better understand Shakespeare ’s language through games and music. They will also explore the process of production including set, costume and makeup design, audition techniques and casting procedures. The four-week workshop will culminate with two performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream for family and friends.  
The workshop will be held Monday-Friday, June 8-26, at the Crighton Theatre located at 234 N. Main in Conroe. Performances will be on June 27-28.
Classes will be designated according to age: 8-13 years and 14-18 years. The cost is $250 per child. A discount is available for families enrolling more than one child.

The Montgomery County YMCAs offer a variety of wellness programs for the active older adult to get fit, have fun, be healthy, stay independent and make new friends.  
The SilverSneakers Fitness Program is designed to help seniors improve their health and is provided at no additional cost by Medicare and Medicare Supplement health plan carriers that are part of the SilverSneakers program. Wine & Food Week 2009
The 5th Annual Wine & Food Week is set for May 26-31. This year’s epicurean adventure explores the tastes of Texas and welcomes national and international winemakers, culinary experts, gourmands and those who just want to savor the flavor while learning something new in a beautiful setting.
With 40 sensational events, a myriad of wine and culinary icons are flocking to Houston to take part in this elite event. Renowned chefs from throughout Texas and beyond showcase their culinary expertise partnered with hundreds of wines from around the world.

Junior Clay Court Tennis Championships
The 31st annual Woodlands Junior Clay Court Tennis Championships will be held June 19-21, at The Woodlands Country Club Tennis Center.
The tournament will feature singles and doubles boys’ and girls’ matches in the 12-18 age brackets. Level of play will be ZATs, Champs and Superchamps. More than 400 players from around Texas and the United States are expected to participate. The tournament is open to the public.
The WMTA is seeking community support for the tournament. Proceeds from the event will benefit Interfaith of The Wood-lands and other local charities.
