The Woodlands HS Theater Students Return From Edinburgh Fringe Festival - Seven students and three teachers from The Woodlands High School attended the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.  This is the fourth time that the school has been selected by the American High School Theatre Festival for this honor.
The students performed Musical of Musicals, the Musical by Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart under the direction of theater chair Carlen Gilseth, with technical direction by Tim Jackubek, choreography by Connie Godwin, and musical direction by Lynn Bull.
After three months of rehearsals, the students flew to London and saw the West End shows of  All’s Well That Ends Well and Billy Elliot, as well as taking a tour of the city and participating in a workshop at the Globe Theatre, and then traveled by train to Edinburgh to attend and perform at the Fringe.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the largest arts festival in the world with as many as 100,000 artists from around the globe. While in Edinburgh, the ensemble also found time to visit the famous sights of Scotland including Sterling Castle, Edinburgh Castle and the summer palace of Queen Elizabeth II. The ensemble performed at the Pilrig Church of Scotland, and saw several other high school and college-performed shows. They stayed in dorms at Queen Margaret University, in the town of Musselburgh, and went on several sight seeing tours around the city.
In the two weeks they were there, the students saw Big Ben, climbed the remarkable Arthur ’s Seat (the highest point in Edinburgh), rode the London Eye, and witnessed the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.
