Montgomery County United Way Employee Campaign Coordinator Training. Several employee campaign coordinators for the 2009 Montgomery County United Way Annual Campaign were trained on the benefits of conducting corporate campaigns to benefit MCUW funded programs.  
MCUW contributors gave over $3.7 million in 2008 to improve the lives of over 176,000 Montgomery County citizens.  Attending ECC training were representatives from the city of Conroe, CB&I, Bridgewood Farms, Conroe Regional Medical Center, Huntsman, The Friendship Center, Montgomery County United Way, Montgomery County Emergency Assistance, and Community Associations of The Woodlands.

Sean Hannity Freedom Concert Tour at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The Sean Hannity Freedom Concert kicked off its 80-city tour in The Woodlands at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The concert featured Billy Ray Cyrus, Charlie Daniels Band, Michael W. Smith and Lee Greenwood.

Socks and Undies Drive Delivers to Montgomery County Emergency Assistance. Dynamic Health and Wellness of Conroe participated in a Montgomery County United Way Days of Caring event by hosting the 4th annual Socks and Undies Drive. More than150 pairs of socks and packages of underwear were donated to MCUW funded partner, Montgomery County Emergency Assistance, to help Montgomery County children. Many of the donations were courtesy of First Presbyterian ’s Vacation Bible School participants.

Assistance League donates to Women’s Center. The Assistance League responded to the need for supplies for the Women’s Center with a donation of backpacks and vouchers. The Women’s Center is still in urgent need of school supplies for children of all ages residing at the agency ’s emergency shelter for abused women and children. Donations needed include backpacks, notebooks, Walmart gift cards, markers, notebook paper, calculators, pens, pencils and folders. Donations can be made at the agency ’s administrative offices located at 1600 Lake Front Circle, The Woodlands.

Women’s center wish list. The Montgomery County Women’s Center is in need of the following items: baby bottles, baby monitors, ladies socks, ladies underwear (small sizes), thermometers and plastic sleeves (for taking temps), pillows, towels, batteries, ethnic hair care products, office supplies, copy paper, toilet paper, paper towels, disinfectant spray, laundry detergent, fabric softener, bleach, disinfecting floor cleaner, alarm clocks, radios and non-perishable canned goods and food products for the food pantry. Women’s Center asks for Volunteer Assistance. Linda Hardwick, special event and volunteer coordinator for the Montgomery County Women’s Center, hosted a training for volunteers to assist in many areas of the agency. Volunteers are needed for court accompaniment, children ’s activities, crisis hotline, special events, the resale store and more.
