consumers on a journey of culinary creation and personal recollection with the
publication of the new cookbook,
Texas Tables.
Texas Tables is a compilation of 240 recipes from family, friends and local celebrity chefs;
heart-warming stories of favorite table moments and 70 photographs by acclaimed
Houston photographer Terry Vine. Food styling for the book is the work of Julie
Hettiger.
Pre-sale orders of Texas Tables for a 25 percent discount will last until Oct. 31. The pre-sale price of the

The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Northshore Park in the
Woodlands.
Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Online registration, team recruitment, sample fundraising letters and online
donations are available at

Woodforest and RE/MAX Hometown are sponsoring Walk for a Miracle 5K on Nov. 7.
Under the Children
’s Miracle Network fundraising umbrella, the walkathon will raise money
specifically for Texas Children
’s Hospital in Houston.
The walkathon starts at 9 a.m., with check-in and registration beginning at 7:30
a.m. at the Woodforest Welcome Lodge, 101Elk Trace Parkway.
Early bird registration is ongoing through Oct. 8. The cost is $25 for adults
and $10 for children. Those interested can sign up as an individual or team at

The Blue Bird Circle will stylishly dance its way back to the ’40s at its annual “Night Nest” Blue Bird Circle Gala on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Junior League of
Houston. The One-Night-Only Club Scene will feature the mellow sounds of
Richard Brown and his band, the amazing Sharon Montgomery and the very talented
Tommie Lee Bradley and Bob Luna. The Bluebird Circle Gala will honor the work
of Dr. Daniel Glaze, director of The Blue Bird Circle Rett Center at Texas
Children
’s Hospital, Dr. Jeffrey Noebels, director of The Blue Bird Circle Developmental
Neurogenetics Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine, and Dr. Robert Zeller,
medical director of The Blue Bird Circle Clinic for Pediatric Neurology at
Texas Children
’s Hospital. The party will begin with a cocktail reception and will include
dinner, dancing, a live and silent auction.
