Upstairs is kid territory, as well as Eric’s office. Their daughter Regan’s room is enchanting in soft pink and pastels while Colin and Aidan’s rooms are strictly defined in “all boy” attire. Think drum set, handsome browns and blues and vivid green with a myriad
of functional built-ins to indulge any kind of collection.
Eric especially enjoys his office in a front upstairs room, a great location for
the D.C. lobbyist who is often on conference calls. The view overlooking the
front yard is quite alluring. So tempting, in fact, that he takes the
occasional conference call from his favorite rocking chair on the upstairs
porch, just outside of his study.
“Every once in a while I’ll have to put my finger on the mute button because you’ll hear a horse in the background, someone coming up the trail next to the
house,
” Eric says. “Every once in a while, I’m busted. They’ll say, ‘Eric are you sitting outside? Was that a horse I heard?’”
He laughs. “Can you see why we think we have the best of both worlds?” l
A view from one side of the pool takes in a wonderful, spacious yard with forest
in the background. The summer kitchen with pergola is a great spot from which
to view it all.
